Cadence ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our service. We are committed to GDPR compliance for users in the European Economic Area (EEA).
Information We Collect
We collect only what's necessary to provide our service:
- Waitlist: Email address (required) and optional project type when you join our waitlist
- Account information: Email address and profile data when you sign up
- Usage data: Daily entries, weekly summaries, and content you create
- Integration data: Data from connected services (GitHub, Stripe, Twitter) that you explicitly authorize
- Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics via Vercel Analytics (no personal data tracked)
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process your data based on:
- Consent: For marketing emails and waitlist updates (opt-in checkbox)
- Contract: To provide the Cadence service you signed up for
- Legitimate interest: For security, fraud prevention, and service improvement
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Cadence service
- To generate your weekly summaries and shareable cards
- To send you product updates (only if you opt in)
- To respond to your questions and support requests
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure (AWS, EU and US regions). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data retention: We retain your data as long as your account is active. Waitlist entries are deleted upon your request or after you sign up. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you're in the EEA, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
- Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interest
Waitlist users: You can unsubscribe instantly using the link in any email we send you, or contact us directly.

Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services:
- Supabase: Database and authentication (PostgreSQL, hosted on AWS)
- Vercel: Hosting and edge functions
- Resend: Transactional emails
- Anthropic (Claude): AI-powered content generation (your data is not used for training)
These services have their own privacy policies and are GDPR-compliant.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use tracking cookies or share data with advertisers.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
